In these years, environmental conservation is the obligation of companies and become the global scale task which mankind has to treat. We, Kohjin, are developing company activities which clearly showing our attitude, "Environmental conservation is the social obligation of companies" as an "Entity needed from society".
Kohjin challenges for offering new and better futures aiming at the harmony between human beings and nature.

We think we should implement more active actions as one company to incorporate environmental conservation activities into a series of these of business as well as to satisfy the legal regulations. As our concrete action, we have urged the production development harmonized with the global environment as well as lessened the burden on the environment in our each business bases.
In the Biochemical business, we have implemented to lessen the burden on the environment, such measures as the large scaled removal of COD and BOD substances using a rotating disk method activated sludge process equipment which first introduced in Japan, and eutrophication prevention around sea area from drainage from coagulation sedimentation de-phosphorous equipment, and etc. Recently, we are enhancing the introduction of the latest model of waste water treatment equipment suitable for biochemical drainage accompanied with the expansion of Biochemical business.
 In the Fine Chemical business, we challenge to lessen industrial waste, while developing the new system to decrease pollutant substances in waste water. Also, we challenge further enhancement of our environmental management system to restrain the drainage of chemical substance which PRTR law regulates, and we supply the commercial products which are used as source materials of environmental friendly products to society including such as non solvent paints and adhesive.
In the Plastic Film business, we urge the development of eco-friendly film products considering in advance the strengthening of legal regulation such as execution of "Containers and Packaging Recycling Law". We dedicated ourselves in every aspect for alleviating burdens to the environment, which including the challenge to lessen waste by recycling film waste generated in production processes, the adaptation of our closed cooling water system and oil-less vacuum pump system, the optimization of our energy supply system, and etc.
In the Specialty Paper business, we have managed environmental protection measures in pursuit of co-existence and co-prosperity with the local environment which has rich water resource. The environmental standards in Fuji area are strict in water quality, air quality and etc., however, we set a more strict in-house standards and place strict cares on the environment such as the optimization of our energy supply system, and etc.
Kohjin will aggressively challenge to alleviate burdens to the environment totally and continuously. |
